Most of the posts I’ve written in the 3 short months that the Verve Coaching Blog has been in existence have been focused on specific issues or topics that I believe are important to people. It’s always been my intention to try to relate my own experience in a way that’s both relevant and valuable so that my readers can benefit from my own challenges, lessons, victories, and failures in life.
Today, the Blog got a very special review from some thoughtful person on blogsrater.com. I wanted to post it so nobody would miss it. The message was this…
Reviewed by JK: Fluff and recycled crap. Don’t waste your time.
I really find this interesting. I find myself wondering why someone would go out of their way to write a negative review of my site? I can easily understand someone going out of their way to tell people about something they believe is important, entertaining, or valuable, but what is it that compels someone to go out of their way to make sure that their negative, destructive, or undermining perspective is heard?
Could it really be that JK is concerned that others might inadvertantly waste their valuable time if they should happen to stumble upon my site and read a few lines? I could actually understand that, because at least it would be coming from a place of genuine concern for other people. I, too, am concerned with other people and their time.
I was particularly suprised to learn that the posts I’ve been writing are actually fluff and recycled crap. Why hasn’t anyone told me? Why didn’t I realize it sooner? I’ve been conducting myself under the illusion that my posts are helpful and valuable. Maybe not brilliant, but at least helpful, I thought. However, now, thanks to the honest, insightful, and generous comments of JK, I know the truth, and so does everyone else. On behalf of all of us little misguided people, thanks for the review.
For those of you who actually enjoy reading my fluff and recycled crap, I’d really like to hear from you. What is it that compels people to use their voice, their time, and their energy toward destructive, undermining, or negative ends? What purpose does it serve? Where does it come from? Maybe someone out there can shed some light. I think this is something worth talking about.

To be honest, this is the first time I’ve been here. However I rarely put much merit on anyone that does reviews. I would much rather make my own decisions on what I like or don’t like. It reminds me of those guys on tv, you know the ones that do the reviews on the newest movies that have come out recently. They have their opinions, and I have enough brains to decide for myself if what I’m reading or watching works for me or not. A good way of looking at it is that there will probably be a lot of people who will check out your site just to see what all the fuss is about.
