Continued from Manifesting a Job You Actually Want
The first step in manifesting a job you actually want is convincing yourself that you have the capacity to create exactly what you want in your life. I use the term “convincing yourself” loosely here.

While I believe, and have seen evidence to support the notion that all human beings possess the ability to manifest their intentions in the world around them, convincing yourself that you have this ability, especially while in the throws of resignation, is another matter entirely.
So, for the purposes of this post, what I mean by “convincing yourself” is simply embracing the idea that it’s possible, or within the realm of possibility, that you have the capacity to create exactly what you want in your life. The first step in manifesting a job you actually want is being open to the possibility that you indeed have the power and ability to create exactly what you want.
Being open to this possibility is simply a matter of choice. Why? Because while you may not know for sure that you possess the ability to create what you want in life, you certainly can’t prove that you don’t possess the ability either. After all, even if you’ve never had the experience of creating exactly what you wanted, it doesn’t mean that you never will, right?
So the first step is no more than a simple shift of perspective, from one of resignation, to one of possibility. You’re choosing to give yourself the benefit of the doubt, simply for the sake of indulging your imagination, and exploring the possibility of what could be.
Simply for the sake of exploration, it’s worth taking the case that you have the capacity to create exactly what you want in your life. Just for the sake of imagination. This shift in thinking opens up your view of what may be possible.
This is important because in order to manifest a job you actually want, you have to at least be able to imagine that such a job exists. You have to be able to separate your imagination and vision (which are completely free from any constraints) from your habitual thoughts and feelings (which are often constrained by past experience).
You have to be willing to believe, or choose to believe that, as Rebecca Dolch said, “whatever you put your energy toward will manifest itself in your life”. If you’re wiling to take this leap of faith in yourself and the possibility of the unknown, you’re ready to move on to step two…
