With the economy in its current state and consumer confidence wavering, many small businesses are tightening their belts in an effort to control spending and successfully weather the storm.
While cutting out unnecessary expenses is critically important during an economic downturn, not every expense is unnecessary. Advertising, for instance, is an area where money is well spent during a recession, as long as it goes toward trusted and proven advertising venues and resources.
Coaching is another resource that can make a huge difference for your small business during a recession. One reason why is because the areas of your business that coaching addresses most effectively become even more critical when the chips are down.
Careful planning, long-term vision, critical decision-making, and the ability to leverage resources are all fundamental to the success of any small business, but they become even more important during a recession.
In addition, coaching can help clarify short-term business goals, boost company morale, and provide an objective view to aid leaders and executives in making strategically sound decisions during challenging times.

Well said, Erek!
It is times like recession that spending money on advertising and coaching can be expenses that small businesses should not be cutting. It is difficult to weather the tough period, I know. Skilful planning and having a long term vision is necessary to make the right decisions this period.

I agree. A recession or a suposed recession is not the time to cut resources like advertising or coaching. Coaching can help an owner or manager to motivate and utilize the people and resources they already have.
JT,
Good point about using coaching to better utilize the resources you already have! Thanks for your comment.
